We all do it: claim to be a servant of God, but are we truly following the Word of God? What does following the word of God actually consist of doing anyway? Jewish scholars asked Jesus why his disciples did not follow the oral traditions (Mishnah). The Bible says: [Mark 7:6-13]: Jesus replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: Theses people honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.” “You have let go of the Commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.” And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the Commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!  Thus you nullify the Word of God by your tradition that you have handed down.”  Their response to Jesus as written in the Bible… torture and murder him.

Even with Jesus’ profound miracles as credentials, they would not believe. People during the time of Jesus were only asked to devote religion absolutely to God alone, but the human being is the most defiant creature.   Unfortunately, soon after Jesus’ lifetime, a man named Paul of Tarsus began proclaiming a very different message: That Jesus came to him and “was in the form of God… but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” In other words, Paul taught that Jesus was God and that Jesus died for our sins; thus, protecting us “from the Wrath of God.” Paul’s brand of gospel was very different from Jesus’ gospel.  If Jesus truly viewed himself as God, he would not have said, [Matthew 7:21] “None of those who Call me Lord will enter the Kingdom of God, but only the one who does the Will of My Father In Heaven.” The Will of God can only be found in the Word of God, not the contrived doctrine of man. Jesus is telling man not to worship him, but to worship his Father in Heaven who is The Only True God; only by doing this, will man enter The Kingdom of God.  Jesus never claimed to be God, but instead told the people to worship God who is his Father in Heaven.  Today, the original Torah and Gospel are either fragmented or lost.

In 325 A.D., Christian scholars (priests etc.) convened at the Nicene Conference…to vote on what laws or belief system Christians would follow. The Laws of true Christianity have already been determined by God and need not be voted on by man to decide anything.  The Nicene Conference scholars decided which gospels would be in the Bible and which would not. To this day, the Gospel of Jesus is nowhere to be found.  These scholars also invented the Trinity Doctrine which officially deified Jesus–the main turning point of man worshiping Jesus as ‘The Divine God. Like the Children of Israel, Christian scholars corrupted their religion by following the words of men. If they adhered to the Word of God alone, they would realize…

The Word of God is Supreme over any word of man; therefore, it should be able to stand alone without any help from man. In the Jewish religion, Rabbi Yehiel ben Joseph is known for saying”…without the Talmud, we would not be able to understand passages in the Hebrew Bible.” The rabbi also said, “…Anyone who does not study the Talmud cannot understand scripture.” His message does not need any assistance from man to be understood. Man gives himself too much credit to believe that scripture can only be made clear with prior assistance from the words of man. Yes, man is making a conscious choice to put himself on equal footing with the Supreme Being.

In reference to man attempting to omit or change The Word of God, The Quran says: [Quran 6:38] …”Nothing have we omitted from the Book.” [Quran 6:114]: “Shall I seek for judge other than Allah? — when He it is Who hath sent unto you The Book, explained in detail. “[Quran 18:27]: “And recite what has been revealed to thee of the Book of thy Lord: None can change His Words, and none wilt thou find as a refuge other than Him.” [Quran 45:6]: “These are God’s revelations that we recite to you truthfully. In which Hadith other than God and His revelations do they believe? “[Quran 45:7]: “Woe to every Fabricator, Guilty.”  God warns man of the sin involved in fabricating lies against His Word as He already knew this would be an issue long before the creation of man.

If following the words of man is forbidden for Jews and Christians… Then, it is also forbidden for Muslims because God’s Law is unchangeable.  [Quran 48:23]: “Such is God’s system throughout history, and you will find that God’s system is unchangeable.”  In fact, the Quran explains why some Jews, Christians, and Muslims follow the ‘words of men’: [Quran 6:112]: “We have permitted the Enemies of every prophet – human and jinn devils – to inspire in each other fancy words, in order to deceive.  Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it.  You shall disregard them and their fabrications.”  The purpose of God allowing man to be deceived by Satan is to test each individual’s sincerity of true faith.  Those who do not believe in the Hereafter will not uphold the Word of God… because they do not believe they will be held accountable. They are disbelievers who will be punished.  If a person’s heart is open to accepting fabricated lies, his faith is not real and is as false as the fabrication he believes in. When man worships anything other than God’s Word, he has chosen that particular thing as his religion–this includes making a choice to believe in the sayings of man over the Word of God; he has more faith in man than in God.  At the end of the day, it will benefit you to ask: “Have I worshiped God alone or have I worshiped the words of man?”
